C were the first armor working with the 87th to cross the Rhine. B, 735th Tank Battalion and two TD's from the 2nd platoon(?) of Co. C reported that two TD's from 3rd platoon were across. According to the 607th unit history, the 347th Infantry Regiment was ferried across at Rhens (about 3.5 miles north/downstream of Boppard as the crow flies), under heavy 20mm fire, with Co. The 607th was attached to the 87th Infantry Division at the time they crossed the Rhine at Boppard. I think this is the Rhine River but not sure if this is at Boppard or, based on another suggestion, Oberwesel, Germany.
